Character Name: Lingfabao - generally Ling for short

Class/Level: Mage Level 80

Armory Link: http://us.wowarmory.com/character-sheet ... =Lingfabao
(Replace the ' with a %27)

A Short Life Story:
(We're a guild that has a high social factor, so we like to know more about our new recruits!)

Oh dear - well - first off I am applying with my hubby Whatthepho (feral druid) b/c we're looking for a laid back guild who raids in our timezone. We used to be on the Uther server in a guild called Chapter Zero which we really enjoyed but we live in Japan and Uther is based in California so the whole raiding thing didnt happen. Pho and I put together a 10 man ICC weekly run with some friends and had a blast trying the bosses in ICC (got up to rotface when we transferred). We also did a bunch of OS 3D farming for drakes with the same team but because of the time difference we could only raid on weekends. Between wanting to spend out weekends doing non-wow stuff and missing being able to do 25 man content, we decided to try an oceanic server. So we looked around and apped to our current guild - SoS - on Calestrasz and got accepted. We've only been with them a few weeks before we realized that while we love 25 man raiding - we are not cut out for the hard-mode cutting edge guild that SoS is due to real life commitments (e.g. each other :P. work, travel).

Other random tidbits: Pho and I live in Japan right now and are Americans. We often travel to Hong Kong (I go for work) and can be seen playing on our crappy hotel internet connections. I am an avid pet collector (in game :P) and he loves collecting mounts. We're both ecstatic that we're on an oceanic server now b/c we can FINALLY do the fishing tournaments and get our "salty" titles.

Alts:
I have a warlock and priest alt on Uther which i may or may not transfer. I have some great friends on that server since its the one I started with so am keeping toons to be able to play with them every once in a while. So far I am digging my priest but that may be because its different from the other two CLOTH CASTERS that i have :P.

Raiding Spec:
My current spec is 57/3/11 Arcane - my offspec is 18/53 TTW/Fire. I personally prefer my Fire spec - but because of the STUPID amount of hit required to sustain fire DPS Ihad to go arcane - If i get enough fire gear though im going back!!!

Raiding Gear summary + upgrade intentions:
Right now im pretty happy with my gear. I have 4 piece T10 with badge belt and cloak. Am working on getting saronite to get the pants crafted but am happy with the ones im in now (hhmmmm... that doesnt sound right...) The best upgrades I'm hoping for are trinket upgrades - mainly hunting for the haste trinket off rotface and the reign of the unliving off anub. Sactified 4 piece set would be nice as well but not in dire need of it right now.

Raiding Experience:

Here is my pugchecker :P
http://www.pugchecker.com/index.php?nam ... &x=22&y=27

BC - raided up to Hyjal and a bit in TK.
Wrath - Missed the latter part of ulduar due to the time difference issue b/w me and Uther :D. Cleared up to Arthas in ICC on 25man.

Last Raid Boss Kill:
hmmmmm... Sindragosa I think.

My History:

Current Guild: SoS

Reason for leaving current guild: See life story :P - TL;DR version - too intense - looking for more laid back raiding attitude.

Previous guilds: Uther - Chapter Zero (home of my alts) and Caelestrasz - SoS

The People I know:
References from Fey Mercurial: None :(
References from outside Fey Mercurial: hmmm - we have some friends on Uther who can probably vouch for us. alas we haven't been with SoS long enough to make any close friends :(. A good friend of mine used to play on this server (he lived in Japan as well :P) but has since transferred off and is on Uther and an East Coast server as thats where he lives now :P.

The Random Space:
Pho and I really liked your guild charter b/c its the type of philosophy we're looking for. We enjoyed raiding with our US friends but we also like having weekends to putz and do non-game stuffs (although we both play quite a bit). Also my job can be quite hectic and involve a lot of travel so the flexible attendance policy is great for us. We generally try to make every raid we can (we're big on sign-ups and communicating when we'll be absent so we dont leave guildies in a lurch) but real life can get in the way.

We look forward to hearing from you - my friend used to play on Dath so i have a lvl 10 pally named lingadin on the server if you want to send in game mail. Or you can hit me up on Lingfabao on Caelestrasz or just post here on the forum.

ETA. Also have Vent - will travel. But pho and I are Mac nerds so Vent needs to have the "speex" codex for it to work...

We've used a mac capable codex since our founding 4 years ago. :)
You are not your magic weapon and armor. You're not your spell buffs. You're not how much gold you have, or how many times you've been raised from the dead. When a Big Bad Demon snaps your sword in two, you do not cry because that was your holy avenger. You leap onto its back, climb up to its head, and punch it in the eye, then get a new damn sword off of the next humanoid you headbutt to death.

With a comment like that about pants, you should fit in perfectly ...

Hey :)

Thanks for the application - would it be simplest to organise a vent chat one evening to discuss your application?

Personally I vote hot tub meeting, but highly unlikely to happen, so vent might be the best choice.

However, it's designed for Japanese sized people so I won't be able to fit. Just as well for you guys though, I'm a bear both in game and outside.

Ya, I had a honda civic hatch back. Great car. Ran forever on basicly no maintence, like 2 oil changes in 10 years. But not very fun for 4 full grown adult males to take a 4 hour car ride in.
